(extract from letter for Forrer sent to Odile de St. G. in L, 11-XI-53

I shall post this letter at Neuilly shortly so that it leaves as + quickly as possible, it is a feast day today. So Bea has written to you. - I have indeed thought of you on Monday at 11 h, which makes 1 h at B. the hour when you were preparing to take the plane for Cyprus. I hope you have arrived safely at Nic. I forgot to ask you to present the bj collective good wishes to Megaw, but you or Forrer have perhaps thought of it. Today you must arrange the camp and surely you have a great deal of work. I am very grateful to you for helping me in this way, for the mission works in this way and we lose - time. For Forrer. As I am not sure of arriving before the attack on the layers under the Ve level, which I mentioned in my letter of 6 Oct., tell F. that if the excavation in the layers of the interior of the city becomes too complicated, he must stop and excavate the continuation of the South enceinte and the continuation of the North enceinte, to the East of the Dikaios area.

Drawing: schematic plan of trenches and city wall with north arrow and legend; labels: 6; 6; 0; 1; 2; 3; 5; 4; N; enceinte S; quart. attenant; Maison des Br. (1936); maison de fouilles

0 = Area Maison des Bronzes 1 = 〃 1948/49 2 = area maison 18, 1949/50 3 = Dikaios area 4 = my area N (1947/48) 5 = north enceinte & quarter cleared by Dik. 6 = soundings to be made to re-find the line of the enceinte.
