| Examination of the floor at point E 23 = pt 87/1949 | |
| At the threshold of the room occupying the squares | |
| 22-24 DE, at the centre of which is point 86 | |
| of 1949, N side of this threshold, we left | |
| the original floor of the gr. bat. in place. Its | |
| surface is at c. 6 to 8 cm below the surface of the | |
| threshold. This floor was numbered 2 by | |
| Georgios in 1949. | The sherds found since |
| the surface of this floor 2 (= | |
| prob. orig. floor of the gr. building) | |
| and the (?) following floor have | |
| been put into a paper bag | |
| identified E 23 under floor | |
| called 2. | |
| This following floor that one could | |
| number 3 is indicated by | |
| a whitish surface, earth | |
| white chalky, hardened by | |
| trampling (?) and below | |
| earth less hard. On the other hand | |
| on its surface rest some | |
| shapeless stones which seem | |
| to confirm that it is here a | |
| floor surface. On this floor also | |
| some sherds. |
