Thursday 22 Sept. 1949Fine._ 11th day of excavation.

Reduced area to 30 m. and 30 w. to allow the architects to take measurements and I to catch up with notes etc. – Removal of spoil is speeding up. I have 2 lorries and 5 horse carts working at the m3. 11h at Famagusta. Bank and Palma, weighing the weights found. Return 1h. Afternoon photographed door in situ T. 11. After opening there reveals itself a fine intact tomb of the Mycenaean period. Glimpsed in the corners heaps of intact vessels, very numerous. What a pleasure. Gave order to suspend before the photos are taken and sent Forr to Fam. to fetch magnesium for photos this evening. — In T 2 the central shaft reveals itself empty in the centre and containing in the 3 corners deposits placed in cavities.

Drawing: rectangular plan with three corner areas and a north arrow; labels: A; B; C; N

A = faience cup in the shape of fish (?), B: various Mycenaean and Cypriot vessels. C. Hydria and Mycenaean krater.
