Dear Prof. Hundt, I have just come back from the vol- Islands in the Aeg. Sea and from Athens, where I spoke with Mr Karageorghis about the Enkomi restorations and casts. From there I wrote you a hurried letter, but on departure I heard that a mass of correspondence was lost on unloading at Piraeus and I therefore send you this Résumé: Kar. Dir. of the Antiquities of Cyprus agrees that your Institute may take casts of the Byzantine gold= and silver find from Lambousa (?) make casts (in Mainz) as a small return for your rescue and study of the Enkomifinds. In the opinion of your staff this find is of interest for your museum. Mr K. asked me to write to the Minister in Nicosia, a letter through him to write so that he grants permission for the casting. Before I do this, I would like to know whether you agree. Please inform me soon. I am here until approx. 6 Oct. here and hope to meet you too if you during this time come to St. Germ. and Paris, as was your intention. With warm greetings, your ever devoted CFA Schaeffer
