Dear Herr Diplomingenieur, I have just again written to Prof. Hundt to ask whether it is known when the remaining Enkomi bronzes for return to the Nicosia - Museum (Cyprus) could be ready in July or Aug., but received no reply to my first enquiry in May. I also asked him today for advice whether the axles in the cult-wagon with the wheels fixed in the rings on the wagonframe turned, or whether [illegible] the wheels rather turned freely around the ends of the quiet in the rings lying axles rotated. As the axles not and of the wheels only one found been are is, the question perhaps remains open. — I have recently in my Ras Shamra reserves discovered some more amber beads from there. If such could help your work on the origin of these beads (in the Mediterranean as I suspected and not from the Baltic) facilitate, I would bring you some beads or fragments or send them through Lagarce if he, in my place, collects the bronzes in Mainz, when ready, would. With warm greetings also to your sympathetic colleagues. Yours C. F A Schaeffer .
