Dear Professor!
Demande / à Chehab. Many thanks for your letter of 22 September 1968 and your kind interest in my amber work. With pleasure I have read of the amber occurrences in southern Turkey and southern Italy, known to you. Naturally it would be of great advantage to me if you could send me, as offered, an exactly dated re amber bead from Ras Shamra. Should you still be able to send further, even very small fragments, I would be very grateful, since we need for the examination only very small quantities and a larger number of samples naturally considerably strengthens the evidential force of such examinations.
I hope you had a good journey through Pakistan with Sir Gordon and have arrived well at Ras Shamra and Cyprus safely.
Yours very sincerely
D. Ankner
