French Archaeolog. Exped. to Enkomi - Alasia

Famagouston, poste restante, 15 x 1. 61

Handwritten: Mrs. Birmingham

Dear Mr. [illegible], your letter of Sept. 29th sent to St. Germain en Laye reached me with great delay in Syria owing to the political happenings during our excavations there at Ras Shamra. - Concerning the possible fibulae from Berard's excavations at Ktima, you may write to his widow Mrs J.B., Paris, 75 av. DENFERT-ROCHEREAU, and ask her. If she should not know, you could write to M. Deshaye, who worked with him there, and who is at present in Iran: c/o Ambassade de France, Teheran.

We found here several fibulae in very early Iron contexts and some furnaces in Lake Arrays during this season, and in graves, we found some more. - There are other sites in Cyprus of course with fibulae finds.

Concerning the Enkomi f.b., please write to me in [handwritten: at the coast [illegible] in St. Germain end] January 1962, so that I can have looked through our drawings. - This form will take your study on Cyprus fibulae?

With best wishes, yours sincerely
