Dear Professor Schaeffer,
We have sent to you by sea mail a very bad set of contact prints of the photographs, which we took in France. You must not judge the finished photographs by this batch, since the University seems quite incapable of producing good contact prints. The enlargements we shall do ourselves in due course.
Robert Merrillees is sorting out the prints of your pottery in Australia at the moment, and we hope to send them off next week. These are also very bad but, again, will bear no relationship to the finished enlargements.
