Dear Dr. Plenderleith, Returning from a southern journey, I find here the electrotype of the Enkomi cup you so kindly have offered me. This is a marvellously fine reproduction and I wonder how you did it. Indeed it is good that a mark indicates the provenance. When you have a moment, could you tell me in what metal is made the reproduction and what materials are used for its decoration? I would be grateful, and I certainly shall be asked about it, when the cup is one day exhibited, I dont know yet where, that depends of where the original shall be kept finally. I am off to the Near East end of the month & shall have another season at Enkomi. Perhaps are we lucky again. Have you made another replica for the B. M. ? And shall it be shown? - I shall send a word of thanks to the Trustees and the Director. Again many thanks and all good wishes,
Yours sincerely C F A Schaeffer.
