Dear Professor Ashmole, You will probably have heard directly from Megaw that: 1. he agrees to prolong the stay of the Enkomi-bowl in the B. M. in order to have a replica made by the slow and safe process Plenderleith suggests according to your last letter. So, I would be grateful to you to ask him for an estimate. In order that the cost for me would be reduced, I suggest that the B. M. orders another copy, if this interests your departement. 2. he agrees to permit the exhibition of the bowl, after its show in the B. M. and the operations by Plenderleith, in the Louvre in Paris, in the autumn of this year. So I would be grateful to you, when the time comes, to have the bowl safely packed a. delivered to the For. Office for despatch by dipl. bag to the your Paris Embassy from where the Louvre Museum would fetch it. After the Louvre exhibition, the bowl would travel back to London by the same way. I hope the bowl good success among your visitors.
