Dear Mr. Megaw, 1. The book is printing, but owing to its size will not be ready for distribution before June. We can't waite with exhibition so long. I have therefore arranged that the article in Ill. L. N. contains references to the book publication. So will the label of the bowl for the exhibition. I have therefore arranged that the exhib. starts as soon as Prof. Ashmole is ready. I asked that on the label is made reference to the loan of your Dep.: "Silver bowl inlaid with gold & niello found by Dr. C. F. A. Sch. in an intact tomb of the XIV. C. B. C. at Enkomi - Alasia (Cyprus). (See Schaeffer, Enk. Alas., vol. I, p. 379 et pl CXVI) - French Archaeological Mission and Cyprus Government joined Expedition to Enkomi, 1950. – Temporary loan by the Antiquities Department Cyprus." – If you want this latter reference altered, please communicate directly with Prof. Ashmole. 2. I told him that the bowl should be back at latest beg. Sept. when I need it in Cyprus to have drawings made by Forrer when we return for further work. Please arrange with A. that the bowl is returned in time and that good provision is allowed for the delay caused by the journey. 3. As the later division of the finds will deprive either the Louvre or the Mus. of Nicosia of the bowl I suggest a galvanoplastic replica is made by the B. M. which can be done without hurting the original. I have asked
