3rd January 1952
My dear Claude,
Alas, we must just have missed you in Paris. We enquired for you but were told that you had not yet arrived. I do hope for better luck in the near future - it is a very long time since we met.
By the way, when you come over to fetch your famous Cyprus bowl from the British Museum, I do hope that you will consent to exhibit it to the Society of Antiquaries at the beginning of one of its meetings. As you know, we meet on Thursdays at 5 p.m. at Burlington House, and would esteem it a great honour to welcome you and the bowl.
Warmest regards to you both, and very best wishes for 1952.
Yours very sincerely,
