Dear Dr. Schaeffer,

I was very glad to receive your letter in Paris and to know that you are as excited as I am over the Enkomie Cup.

Now, as to your various requests -

1. A second copy of my Ms is sent herewith.

2. Also, two photographs, as requested, showing the cup full size,as well as two original prints made by Mr. Bell who, in due course, will submit his account for same.

3. As it is not possible by direct photography to record all the pattern from the back in one photograph, I am having the number of photographs necessary for a photo montage prepared without cost to you. Mr. Bell will then undertake the photo montage from these photographs so that your requirement will be carried out and you will be asked to pay for the photo montage work only.

4. I have written to a professional photographer, said to be very good at colour work,to ask for his estimate for a coloured photograph size 9 x 12 cm and I will forward this as soon as it arrives.

I was interested in your reference to the Damascus mask and will gladly help if I can.

I had a visit from Mr. Bruce Mitford, who also excavates in Cyprus, and he was most anxious that I should give Mr. Megaw all information about the cup and send him photographs, but I naturally presume that you have kept him fully documented and I am writing him accordingly.

Handwritten: Best wishes for further successes. Yours sincerely,

Handwritten: H.J. Plenderleith
