Nicosia, November 21st, 1957.

Dear Director Megaw, I have now considered carefully your letter dated November 21st and the revised proposals for the division outlined by you on November 19th, with further changes added in red pencil during our conversation this morning. I think that it is now preferable to postpone all further discussions to which you invite me in § 5 of your letter until I am informed of your proposals concerning the division of the minor finds from the Enkomi excavations. You have agreed to display them now and I am awaiting your signal to come back for reviewing the position then. I sincerely hope that it will be possible to considerably improuve the Expedition's share in the whole division, in order to bring it near to the half share which, according to the present Antiquities Law, has to be allocated to the excavator. You understand that otherwise it would be impossible for me to accept the proposals on behalf of the authorities of the French Expedition. Yours sincerely C. F. A. Schaeffer.
