Sketch Suggestions relative to the discussion of the division of the Enkomi finds Nicosia, le 20 Nov. 1957.

Dear Director Megaw,

I have carefully considered your second proposal for the division of the Enkomi finds. I appreciate your effort to improve the part of the French Expedition and thank you. An examination of the newly proposed division (see list) shows nevertheless that we are far from an equal or near equal share which the Antiquities Law promises to the excavating party, which in the present case is also the discoverer of the town site. I therefore declare with much regret that I cannot take shoulder the responsability on behalf of the authorities of the French Expedition to agree to your proposal.

But I feel at that stage of our discussion that I in reply to your yesterdays proposal I should take the risk to contribute a positive suggestion which might help to orientate it towards an agreement between the two parties involved. The difficulties arrise from your suggestion which of course I can understand to retain for the C.M. both the outstanding antiquities found at Enkomi:
