I have some difficulties with Damascus where they refused so far the visas for my assistants, wanting to let come in only my wife & myself and offering me syrian technicians of the Museum as much as I need. I hope to get round that situation when in Damascus.

P.S. Parrot informs me that the bronze throne cannot be reproduced by galvanoplastic method. It needs a costly & long "à la cire perdue" method. So he was not able to make the reproduction. I therefore would be grateful to you to extend the loan until next year if possible of the statuette 5501 B which is part of the same lot (export licence 3327, 29. Nov. 57). —
On the other hand, from Export licence 3326 (same date), I would be glad to keep until publication the 4 small boxes of various sherds of my 1957
