shots are flat & overexposed. I am afraid it can not be used in its present form for work on outside Cyprus.

I am informed that the departure of the vases has been deferred to avoid unnecessary handling by Laperre. I think he was right. So I expect the consignment only in February. All precautions shall be taken at Marseille & Paris arrivals. The Louvre Museum undertakes handling & opening.

Thank you for the exc. commentary in the local press. I shall send you back soon the guide for Enk.-Al. —

Confidentially : I hope Dikaios can really finish his last excavations at the site. After some last experiences, it would be better for our relations if he would no longer return to the site in connection with diggings. After all, he is on the spot and many years have elapsed since the termination of the combined expedition. — I thank you for all the help & cooperation you & your services have given to M. Kuss. —

The funds for my 1958 season at Enk. have been approved. So I may hope to see you again this year, in autumn, if not before.

Please give my wife's & my own kind regards & wishes to your wife & believe me, dear Director Megaw, yours sincerely s Schaeff
