Mr A. H. S. Megaw Director of Antiquities, Government of Cyprus Nicosia.

Dear Director, I have the honour to acknowledge receipt of your letter of 25 November concerning the division of antiquities found at Enkomi between 1946 and 1956. On behalf of the authorities on which the Mission Archéologique Française d'Alasia depends, I accept your propositions as well as the requests set out in the paragraphs 3, 5 and 6 of the same document. As for the loan specified in paragraph 4, I would like it to be limited to one year from this day. I propose, on the other hand, that the division referred to under 7 be carried out on the occasion of my next excavation season in Cyprus, autumn 1958, at least as regards the bronzes and other objects, with the exception of the stratified pottery, whose division will be deferred until after the publication for which it will be necessary. — Please accept, Director, with my thanks, the expression of my distinguished sentiments, C. F A Schaeffer.
