Enkomi - Alasia, Nov. 29th, 1957.
Dear Director Megaw,
I am grateful to you for having made arrangements that the site of our excavations at Enkomi is guarded on Monday when the regular guard Jorgali Kyriakou is out of duty. Explanatory note. It would be desireable that the guards at the site are provided with a upto date notice concerning the site & finds in Greek and English in order that the explanations given have sense. Behavior of regular guard. I would think it useful that Jorgali Kyriakou is reminded: 1/ to be on the site at the regular hours of opening & to remain there until closing hour. [He often sits in the village & rushes behind the visitors when they arrive & returns there when they leave] 2/ He should not rush after the visitors on his bycicle with his three dogs, but receive them in a orderly & polite way before they arrive there. 3/ He should not discriminate greek and turkish visitors; 4/ he should have signed all visitors
