wealth of Myc. pictorial vases, many of them unknown. At present I am working on a group of three vases, all by the same painter : A bowl from Klavdia, Cyprus, decorated inside with bull protomes, an almost identical bowl from Ras Shamra (Ugaritica II pl. XXIX, bottom left) In 1951 a certain Mrs Sykes brought to the British Museum a Myc. chalice, like the ones you found at Ras Shamra (Ugaritica II fig. 127/14, 15, 17, 18 .), also decorated with the bull protomes of an identical type with those of the bowls. I am particularly concentrated on this chalice, especially its form. I hope to publish this as a short note in a journal. If you have a photograph of your Ras Shamra bowl I shall be most grateful if I could include it side by side with photos of the other two vases I mentioned above. My wife and myself most sincerely hope that nothing will prevent you from coming to Cyprus this year, for a long and fruitful season at Enkomi. In the meantime, please accept the expression of our deepest admiration and gratitude. Please convey our kindest regards to Madame Schaeffer, Yours very sincerely Vassos Karageorghis
