Dear Mr. Megaw,
Thank you for your letter of Jan. 28th. I delayed answer as I thought you will reply to another question to which I referred: the division which according to the arrangements was envisaged at the end of the combined expedition. I expect to get your idea about this point later.
The Press communiqué conc. the end of the Combined expedition is satisfactory & I am glad Dik. could terminate his additional research in the Temple area. We shall probably return to this neighbourhood during this years digging for which the funds have been approved.
I also got the new licence for which I thank ; as Dik. has signed please give him my thanks & best wishes.
It does not seem possible that in the near future an agreement is reached conc. the status of C. It is there as difficult as in Algeria where I must add I do not approve French action. Let us hope for the best. Yours very sincerely C.F.A. Schaeffer.
