on visiting card of the Pres. of the Soc. Amis de R . . . on 3. 1. 78. presents to Mrs and Mr Nicolaou his best wishes on the occasion of the new year also on behalf of Mrs Schaeffer and informs Mr Nicolaou that he has had sent to the Embassy of Cyprus in Paris an aluminium trunk containing 102 boxes of pottery fragments exported for study at the end of various excavation campaigns at Enkomi-Alasia. The study of this material could not be completed because of the impossibility of access to the archaeological site from which it comes, owing to the occupation by Turkish forces. For this reason the vol. Alasia II must be delayed until I can go to Alasia. I therefore ask you, to consider this material as unpublished and to keep it until my return to Nicosia. Please convey my remembrances to Mr Karageorghis and my wishes and believe, ch M le Cons à l'expr of my best sentiments.
