MINISTRY OF COMMUNICATIONS & WORKS DEPARTMENT OF ANTIQUITIES NICOSIA.

28th September 1977

Dear Professor Schaeffer,

I have been asked by my Ministry to report on the state of loans of antiquities abroad. As I see from our records, a number of antiquities are kept by you while the permit under which they were given to you on loan has expired. The letter to you and lists of the Curator of the Museum of 30th of June 1977 are relevant.

Please let me have these objects back as soon as possible. The best way is to hand them to the Cyprus Embassy in Paris. Please consider this matter as urgent.

Yours sincerely,

(Sgd.) V. KARAGEORGHIS

(Vassos Karageorghis) Director of the Dept. of Antiquities.

Professor C.F.A. Schaeffer, Membre de l'Institut, Petit Castel 16, rue Turgot, 78100 Germain-en-Laye, FRANCE.
