Mission Archéologique Française
Enkomi-Alasia Expedition, 5 November 1965.
Dear Director, Please find enclosed a copy of the inventory of objects found during the 17thth Campaign of excavations at Enkomi-Alasia (pages 1 to 12, nos. 1701 to 17.48.). I add, p. 14, a list of 21 objects inventoried for which I ask you kindly to grant me a temporary export permit. The same for a cardboard box containing 12 boxes of sherds and one engraved stone, not inventoried for study. I also have 5 boxes with fragments of cups and other bronze vessels coming from looted tombs, which I ask you to have examined in your laboratory and possibly restored. It may be that there are silver fragments among them. I take the opportunity to also return to you the statue of the god on ingot of 1963 that you kindly agreed to entrust to me for examination before the completion of the treatment it is currently undergoing in the laboratory. I thank you for the facilities you gave me during this campaign, and ask you to accept, Director, the expression of my distinguished and devoted sentiments. C.F.A. Schaeffer.
