Mr J. Lapierre, Consul of France, Larnaca, Cyprus.

Dear Sir,

With reference to your letter of 14 November, I have the honour to inform you that the Louvre Museum would no doubt be willing to accept as a gift from Mr Stylianou the lot of bronze objects coming from Enkomi and forming part of his collection. The donor's name would certainly be inscribed on the explanatory label placed beside the objects in the showcase.

If Mr Stylianou is willing to follow up his proposal, please take charge of the lot in question and take it to the Nicosia Museum, where you would kindly hand it over to Mr Dikaios on my behalf. My collaborator Mr Forret will return to the island next January or February and will take charge of making the inventory of the lot, drawing it and packing it for its dispatch to Paris. Forret will present the gift through the curator of Oriental Antiquities to the Council of the Museums of France, and a letter of thanks will be sent to the donor.

I take this opportunity to thank you for your happy initiative and ask you to present my respectful compliments to Mrs Lapierre, and to accept for yourself, dear Sir Consul, the expression of my distinguished sentiments and best wishes.
