Dear Mr Conservator, I thank you for your letter of 14 July concerning the objects to be returned. I shall resume and have MM. Courtois and Lagarce resume the searches for the objects that they signed on my return to St Germain en Laye. But this cannot take place until towards the end of the year when I return from my library to our house at Croix- Valmer, where I am working on the final proofs of Ugaritica VII and on my Corpus of the glyptic of Syria and Cyprus. Until then I ask you to be patient. Please accept, dear Mr Conservator, the expression of my distinguished sentiments and present my respects to Mrs Nicolaou.

C F A Schaeffer-Forrer.
