Nov. 2 1965 Observations of James M. Robinson (Nov 1 cf my notes in book of Mlle Courtois) 6 7.22.E ^(cf. p. 31-2)/ S of balk clearing below 2nd floor toward third floor (= sol VI). N of balk beyond pit clearing second floor. 7.23.E Sol V visible on NW balk of pit. Large broken jar SW corner outside pit would be on or slightly above Sol V. Sol V is 13 cm thick roughly at same height as on W balk of 6.23.E. Gray-white S balk of 6.23E also shows Sol V. Below 12-16 cm of white is a 1 cm strip of red, then 4 cm of white below, as also W balk of 6.23 E. Not deep enough in 7.23.E to verify this stratigraphic pattern. 7.22.E ^(cf. above)/ N of pit sherds on inclined surface of 2nd floor. Mostly from large storage jars at base of higher wall. They occur in S part of square under same wall, below 18-20 cm of dirt. But 7.21.E The large well-cut stone, ^(cf. p 5)/ lying N-S is rather in line with similar though somewhat smaller cut stones in 7.19.E. They lie at angles. One furthest N seems to have with its side edge cut into a floor that is also visible on N balk of pit at S end of 7.18.E. Stone at S end of 7.19.E could be in situ. It is flat, & lower (20-40 cm)
