urat 9h00 we were informed of the arrival of a telegram which I go to fetch at the Cable office. Monsieur Schaeffer arrives on Sunday, and not Monday. (lunch time). We connect the East front to the E end of the North trench (old excavation) and in this region we begin a second trench on a length currently of 27.m00. the future, the tractor + 2 lorries barely manage to keep up with the pace of an excavation of 60 PP in working more than 8h00 per day. The general organisation of the camp, the number of workmen unfamiliar with this work, the present unsuitability of the collaborators, to this site; mean that I have been able only to start the surveys. Took advantage of the trip to the Cable office to notify the Barclay's bank for tomorrow's pay (coins)
