Handwritten: Analysis, Cyprus,

Dear Sir,

I apologise for having delayed so long in sending you my opinion on the slag sample that you sent me; but I wished to make a very thorough analysis.

I enclose herewith a note that I have written and of which you may do as you see fit.

As for the second sample, the one found at Ras Shamra, it is clearly something else; one has certainly to do with a carbonate ore. I ask you for some time to consider this matter and will send you a note shortly.

Monsieur CHENET, being interested in this work, I am sending him a copy of my note.

Please be so good as to believe, Dear Sir, in the expression of my most devoted sentiments. —
