Dear Sir,
I am still studying the two samples you sent me. The analyses indicated made show:
- For one: a "mineral" very rich in iron and sulphur, containing a little copper.
- And this "mineral" was an iron ore, the examination, in my opinion, allows much of its interest, but the main aim of the subject is to study the refining by a kind of treatment of an ore of copper and iron. It is not useful to you and this subject is probably interesting but therefore very interesting; perhaps it may arrive? The first?
- For the other, which was separated from a fragment of copper (?), a "mineral" which has been crushed reduced to powder and which the analysis shows to be a copper carbonate.
In the metallurgical treatment of these samples, it would be necessary to determine that one can go to an oxide which is very easily obtained which refined from a carbonate, this, you will be able to, is of greater interest and suitably the metallurgists are slightly so in their merit. One must be very cautious and I need to study the question further in order to be more explicit.
