Mr Dr. Cl.F.A. Schaeffer Director of the Excavations of Ras Shamra The White Castle 14, Rue Turgot St. Germain-en-Laye

Very honoured Herr Doctor !

In the spring of this year I asked you to send some metal samples from finds from Syria. You then kindly agreed to send the desired samples, should you have the possibility of obtaining them.

May I ask again when I can expect the dispatch of the samples, since I am just about to carry out another series of analyses and could therefore conveniently examine these samples as well.

I take the liberty of enclosing an offprint. This work again contains some new analyses. You will surely have a use for them.

With best regards I am

Yours very devotedly
