Dear Professor Schaeffer Collège de France

Margin left: Mr Courtois / where are the skulls / and other bones / of Enk. (Sanct.?)

Dear Professor,

I thank you for your letter of 19 April. I understand better now the problem of travel and subsistence expenses, and the need to make first of all a study of the material from your excavations, and incidentally the study of that of Mr Karageorghis. Nevertheless, as it is not possible for me to devote more than 10 days to Cyprus, for the reasons that I set out to you in my last letter, I shall be obliged, given the abundance of the material, to come with my wife whose collaboration, for this kind of observation, allows me to do much more considerable work in the same time. I would be grateful if you could also arrange her passage Beirut - Nicosia; we could in that case take on ourselves her subsistence expenses in Cyprus. If that were possible, I would specify to you the date of our arrival, probably at the beginning of July. Please accept, Professor, the assurance of my profound respect.
