Sir.

Today ends a week which, here, was among the quietest. de Contensson has devoted it entirely to the pottery from the soundings, while Michaël and I myself were making the trench plans, which we have finished today.

Thursday, after two days of strong winds, we have endured a day of sporadic storms but the weather seems slowly to be improving.

I enclose for you an interpretive sketch of the scarab of which I spoke to you in my previous letter. This is the only new element that I can include since the complete stop of the area.

Drawing: incised motif from a scarab showing a standing figure facing right with raised arm and curved elements; labels: none

so on 25 or 26 Oct.We plan to finish our work on Friday next and make the journey to Nicosia, either Saturday evening or Sunday.

No mail has arrived for you this week, and I no longer think I have any to forward to you. Having no news from you, I hope that your stay is giving you full satisfaction … continues
