Courtois (even my successor Pelon had left) with a handful of interested members on the side. This attitude of yours also left in me the feeling of an unfair treatement by one of those younger and ambitious colleagues who are not objectively interested in the work of their prédecessors. I wish you further success of course. But I hope that you can understand when I have now decided to renounce the publication of my not ccommented contribution to the Symposium in the Acts as well as of my remarks at Enkomi - Alasia. I shall have an opportunity to return to these matters in the volume II of Alasia now in preparation. When you shall have another 20 years of fieldwork and study behind you, you will perhaps come to understand my attitude. I hope that no ingratitude which is so often served to well meaning scholars will become your own lot. Yours sincerely

CFASchaeffer.
