Dear Professor Schaeffer,

With reference to your letter of the 15th July, 1966 I enclose a renewed permit and extracts of the amended Antiquities Law.

I am glad to know that the Expedition will continue the work this year, and I noted the dates of arrival of the various members of your team. In the meantime I noticed that Marinos has arranged for the removal of the dump of previous excavations.

I was glad to receive an offprint of your last report on the horned god, thank you very much.

The report of M. Dreos on the material from Salamis for which you so kindly let him at our disposal has not been published yet. What he has done for the Tamassos and other material was during his first private visit, I think. The Expedition's generosity will certainly be acknowledged when the Salamis report is published.

We have had a very successful season at Salamis this year; one tomb has given us four chariots and a large number of ivories of fine quality.

With best wishes to Madame Schaeffer and yourself.

Yours sincerely,
