Professor Cl.F.A. Schaeffer, Le Castle Blanc, 14, Rue Turgot, St.Germain-en-Laye, Paris.

Dear Professor Schaeffer,

Road Diversion at Enkomi.

I have to inform you that the acquisition of the land involved in the above mentioned diversion planned in 1959 was delayed by the Department of Lands and Surveys for reasons beyond their control. The Director of that Department has now intimated that action will be taken soon but he would like to know whether the arrangement made between you and the then Director of Antiquities, by which your Expedition would contribute half the cost of acquiring the above mentioned land, still stands.

I shall be grateful if I may have your reply on the above mentioned matter.

Yours sincerely,

P Dikaios

Director of the Dept.of Antiquities.
