Cyprus, (Enk. 1962) Milliex.
Pardigon, par Cavalaire s^/Mer (Var), 21 April 1962. Dear Sir, I thank you for your letter of the 16th inst. and deeply regret that I find myself unable to send you my works on Cyprus, which have long been exhausted, as regards my Missions in Cyprus published in 1936 and Enkomi-Alasia I published in 1952. I have instructed booksellers antiquarian, to buy for me every copy they can find in the sales. However, a few copies of my Stratigraphie Comparée remain at the Oxf. Univ. Press, which contains a chap. on Cypriot archaeology and my research on the island. I am instructing Oxford to send one copy to Mr the Ambassador. You could add it on my behalf as a gift to the Greek Library, if the volume seems to you to belong in that collection. If not, I ask Mr the Ambassador to keep it for the library of the Embassy. I hope that the future public library of the Greek Community of Cyprus is equally accessible and easily to the Turkish Community, among which there are several scholars who take an interest in the archaeology and history of the island. I shall resume my research at Enkomi-Alasia in November. Please accept, dear Sir, the expression of my distinguished and best sentiments, and convey with the memories of my wife my respectful homage to Mrs Milliex. C F A Schaeffer
