Dear Professor Schaeffer
I have to thank you for your letter, your report on the 1961 Excavations at Enkomi-Alasia, and the drawings of Mycenaean vases which have arrived safely. The report will appear as a press communiqué in English, Greek and Turkish in the newspapers next week-end that is in two days time. The delay was beyond my control (!). I shall make use of this report in my Chronique, but I wonder whether an illustration could also be given. A general view or a photo of a vase (close style?) will do admirably. Excavations at Salamis have started again. This time I hope to try a few tombs in the archaic cemetery at Salamis, between the Forest and the Monastery. We have now our new Ambassador of France in the Republic, M. Louis Keller. Yours ever Vassos Karageorghis
