Dear Professor Schaeffer, Thank you for your letter of 25th Jan. The press communiqué on your excavations at Enkomi has been published in the Greek and Turkish newspapers, but unfortunately not in the Cyprus Mail. I do not know why. I inquired and the answer was that the Public Information Office through which we give all our communiqués, did not give an English text to the Cyprus Mail. We sent one, but was given to the Reuter. We shall take the matter up with the Director of the Public Information Office, to see that in future the English text of archaeological press communiqués is given to the Cyprus Mail. Strictly speaking the Public Information Office releases news in the two official languages that is Greek and Turkish !
