what arrangement you decide (my address : Aug. 19th - 27 c/o Prof H.W. Bailey, FSA, Queenscollege, Cambridge, Aug. 30 - Sept. 15th, St. Germain. — Forrer reminds me that the wall on the NW. corner of Enkomi would have to be dug in a field belonging to the greek-orthod. Church, headquarter at Nicosia. Would you be so kind as to obtain their consent for our operations? Another point : our théodolith and thachyometer needed to make the exact plan of the wall has been left in Malatya (Turquie) and can't be got at present. I have decided to buy another instrument, which Kuss shall bring over from Paris. But I am not sure that the instrument will be got in time before his departure and in that case, could you lend Forrer such an instrument for beginning of september? The weather here is fine with thunderstorms at night & exceptionally fresh so as to look for woolen pullovers. That, I am sure, will sound strange to you, for Forrer reports a heat not heard off at Lattaquié since 25 years. I hope you will soon be relieved. Yours sincerely C F A Schaeffer.
