Dear Mr. Megaw, Thank you for your letter of August 2nd, and for your willingness to put at the disposal of the French Mission the services of Michael Vasos and eventually of Georgios Anastasiou or another of your experienced foremen. I must confess, as much as I like Georgios, that I would prefer a younger man if that could agree with your plans and be done without hurting Georgios. But I accept in that respect your final decision. Before leaving to Switzerland I have brought the Enkomi bronzes & other pieces to the British Embassy for transfer to the B.M. where they have arrived meantime, according to a letter received from Plenderleith. He agrees to deal with the additional pieces but adds: " I had the greatest difficulty in getting the Enkomi Cup returned to Cyprus by diplomatic bag and I therefore suggest you make the necessary arrangements with Megaw if you wish to have the whole consignment sent to Cyprus." Would you, please, do that, for I can't of course ask the Colonial Office to accept the transfer. If that is not practicable, then I would accept to bring the box over by air when I fly over on Sept. 16th from Paris to Cypr. In that case, the finds would have to be returned by Plenderleith to Paris before that date. Let me know, please
