7. VI. 54.

Dear Mr. Megaw,

I have returned here yesterday from the States and hoped to find your answer on my letter dated May 3rd sent in reply to your memorandum of April 12th.

As there is end of the month a discussion at the Commission for Archaeol. Research at our Ministry of For. Affairs about my next work at Enkomi, I would be grateful to get before that meeting your reply on my proposals made in the letter to you of May 3rd.

I had occasion to meet M. Sjöqvist at Princeton last week and I was glad to note that even considerable divergencies in opinion about archaeological matters do not prevent personal friendship. I am sorry that I am not so lucky with your Curator who will not pardon a harsh word.

I hope to have news from you.

Yours sincerely

C. F A Schaeffer.
