Dear M Megaw, I confirm my letter dated, June 21st. Would you agree that the fragment of a tablet, Enkomi, 1953 (Inv. 5) and two votive ingots Inv. 2 + 3 of last season been send to Plenderleith by the Br. Embassy, for cleaning? The answer given me by our laboratory is not satisfactory; they would have to sacrifice the green patina of the ingots to get the signs visible and, for the tablet, they would not give an the garantie that during the rebaking the tablet would not "explode"! So I dont dare the treatement. If you agree, please inform the Embassy; it would be a small parcel, appr. 15 x 15 x 4 cm. Yours sincerely

C F A Schaeffer.

P.S. I have asked Plenderleith, if he could accept & told him I would secure your agreement.
