the work and final publication of the North Area before finishing and publishing the "Temple Area" would result in a regrettable delay and a considerable complication of the research and the publication of the French Mission working around this vital section of the town. As you say, there would little further work to be done by you in this area, whreas there remains more to be done in the quite distinct northrn sector. The main temple area has been explored during so many campains already that it would seem advantageous and certainly be of the greatest assistance to my own research and to further exertions of the French expedition if this area could be given by your curator and yourself priority to over the North area during the period of finishing the work of the Departments expedition to Enkomi and its publication. If it is now doubtful, as you tell me, wether the new road will be in use until your curator begins his additional work this year, it would also seem practical to deal this time with the "Temple Area" in order to avoid the necessity of arranging a temporary local diversion of the present Enkomi - Limnia road.
