Dear Megaw, I thank you for your letters of Dec. 17th & 31st with your wishes & the delightful calendar. I hope you have begun 1950 in good health & I wish you & your wife a happy year together. I am returning to St. G. after a fruitful season at Ras Shamra where we had few rain but much wind & coldish days which made the outdoor work often unpleasant. Enkomi I. Dikaios' chapter is well organized and I am looking forward to this valuable contribution to our publication. He may be as generous as possible with the illustrations, I am proposing to reproduce the statue by "hélio" which may give the best results. It might be useful to try another set of photographs with electric light to obtain more plastic. If not possible we can use the existing prints. Forrer is coming back to Nic. end of the month or early in fevr. to finish the drawings of our 1949 finds, of which some shall be published in Enk. I. Please arrange that the mending is ready, for he is then going over to Palmyra
