During the return voyage by sea, I had time to reflect on this project, and as soon as I have proposals to make, I will communicate them to Mr Kazamias as he wishes, and he will certainly speak to you about them.
Please find enclosed a Communiqué to the press on the XXth Campaign of the French Mission at Enkomi-Alasia this year, with an addendum on the discovery of the cult chariot. I will later send you a fuller text for your annual report and will transmit a copy for the BAH to Mr Amandry, the new director of our School at Athens, with whom I conversed, already before his appointment, telling him that it would be desirable for his establishment to take a greater interest than in the time of his predecessor in the exploration of Enkomi-Alasia.
Please believe, dear Colleague, in my friendly and devoted sentiments.
C.F.A. SCHAEFFER
P.S. At the moment of posting this letter, I receive yours of the 8th inst., for which I thank you. We had a very good crossing in sunshine as far as Naples. But from there, a sea rough from the mistral, and we arrived late.
The Communiqué for the press is perhaps a little long. You could reproduce it with one or two photos (which will follow, the photographer having flu is late) in the BCH chronicle. I must however ask you to sign with my initials the paragraph on Enkomi-Alasia, for I wish to inform Mr Amandry of the archaeological news from Enkomi, as was agreed.
