23 February 1969 Dear Sir, I thank you for your letter of 14 February and accept to write the article that you have kindly asked me to write. Your initial letter is not accessible at present and I would be grateful if you would specify the length of the article; I had thought of a relatively short paper. Is it intended for the general public or for the archaeologists gathered on the occasion of the Congress? Please accept, Dear Sir, the expression of my very distinguished sentiments.

C Schaeffer.
