DEPARTMENT OF ANTIQUITIES NICOSIA

12th December, 1964

Dear Professor Schaeffer,

Thank you for your letter of 21st November from Beyrouth. I am now in a position to say that the landrover is safe in the garage according to your instructions, and that the keys and paper have been handed over to M.Lapierre. The fencing of the house is going ahead as well as the repair of the Custodian's hut. I shall send the bill to M.Lapierre for settlement.

With regard to the Department's dump at Enkomi I shall have your request in mind early next spring when a Famagusta Company will need soil for levelling up the marshes outside the town. I shall ask somebody to supervise the removal. It is not possible to do any thing now becuase the soil is too wet. It has been raining since the day of your departure!

With all good wishes to you both.

Yours sincerely,
