Dear Megaw and Dikaios,
The volume of Enkomi-Alasia I is in the printers' hands, nearly 400 pages, 150 figures in the text and about 100 plates. The text was longer than I expected, but fascinating. I think that the volume will be out for summer.
Just a fortnight ago, I gave to the Academie des Inscriptions the essence of my historical conclusions, which may interest you. So I am sending you a copy of my report.
When is Dikaios resuming the dig at Enkomi? My plans are not yet ripe, but in any case there will be low money and time this year for work at the spot. But we will see, when the bills come in.
As you noticed, I have given no provisional article on my 1949 and 1950 digs to the Illustrated London News, in order to avoid reproduction of the main finds, until the book publication is out. In Dossin, Alt Syrien, pl. 407, the statue of the Mycenaean-Apollo statue is already reproduced after Ill. Lond. News, 1949, the copyright is of not use.
I hope all is well in the Museum, the families and that you are satisfied with the work.
I hope to see you again in autumn.
Yours sincerely,
