I suggest, such objectives as:

(a) Collection of additional sherds from the material of floor V.

(b) Collection of addititnal evidence from below floor V.

(c) Collection of material from successive layers of the streets, particularly the earliest.

(3) Supplementary work after your season at points where this seems desirable in the light of the results of the above trials.

As regards the current work the present position is that the westward extension of the compound dig has disclosed a north-south wall at a small distance which serves conveniently as a limit for the dig, as the streets do on the other sides. In the extension area the masonry nowhere approaches the fine quality of the main Building and/it seems we are in an area of annexes of minor importance in the original scheme but which remained in use and was/reoccupied after the second disaster. Here our purpose is simply to round off the dig and we have no expectation of important finds or/results as regards stratification other than what we found in the main area. So as there is agreement regarding all the layers above the original floors, none of which relate to their original use, I see no advantage in delaying their excavation (except for a few rooms where later floors will be left as specimens) and have given Dikaios authority to go ahead. Naturally the work will proceed in the same manner as before and all sherds, floor by floor will be kept. That done we shall have wider scope for trials in the material of the original floors and for investigations of the underlying remains during and after your campaign; these are the crucial points.
